| Torgashev's parents Artem Torgashev and Ilona Melnichenko are former figure skaters. Artem Torgashev won the silver medal at the ISU World Junior Championships 1987 in pair skating, competing for the Soviet Union. Melnichenko is the 1987 World Junior Ice Dance Champion (with Gennadi Kaskov), competing for the Soviet Union. Torgashev sat out the 2015/16 season recovering from a fractured ankle. | |||||||||||
